Supporting Educational Assessment in Nankana Sahib

: Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) Data Collection 

Overview:

The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) is a prominent, citizen-led, household-based initiative designed to provide reliable estimates on the schooling status of children aged 3-16 years residing in rural and select urban districts across Pakistan. On behalf of Idara Taleem o Agahi (ITA), Youth for Democracy & Development (YDD) has been appointed to spearhead the data collection efforts in Nankana District.

Project Objectives:

1. Targeted Data Collection:

 Our initiative focuses on children in the age group of 5-16 within Nankana Sahib district. 

2. School Engagement: Volunteers engaged with 100 schools, interacting with children, parents, and teachers to assess the educational status and challenges faced by children.

3. Survey Tools:

 The evaluation process utilizes three distinct survey tools to ensure the validity of test results across key learning subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Urdu.

Methodology:

Field Visits:

 Our team conducted field visits to a range of schools to collect qualitative and quantitative data.

Participant Engagement: Engaged directly with stakeholders, including children, parents, and educators, to gather comprehensive insights.

Tools Application:

 Implemented diverse survey tools to evaluate various aspects of educational engagement and performance.

Impact:

This initiative aims to generate robust data that will contribute to a deeper understanding of the educational landscape within Nankana Sahib. The insights gathered will inform policy decisions and drive improvements in educational outcomes across the region.

YDD's involvement in the ASER data collection project reflects our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and outcomes. By providing accurate and actionable data, we aim to support the broader goals of ITA and contribute to the enhancement of educational standards within Pakistan.
